In 2007 Eurotech Geoscience Services provided independent consultancy to a London based independent Oil company to upgrade their installation of OpenText LivelinkTM to Enterprise Server Version 9.7.

Upgrading from the monolithic single server design hosting Livelink Admin server, Livelink index, Oracle and IIS web server to an improved multi-server architecture.

Identified targets were... 

• Improved User Experience: Livelink Enterprise Server 9.7 usability improvements include updated terminology, promoted functions, enhanced menus and powerful new capabilities that shares many characteristics with a Windows environment.
• Significant Platform Enhancements: Livelink Enterprise Server 9.7 introduces significant enhancements to the platform, including its search architecture, security, permission model and workflow engine.
• The upgrade path included server hardware and OS upgrades plus creation of the new Oracle10g   database and associated Oracle table exports and imports. Livelink software was upgraded and patched and fully tested on the production server.
